3 Years! And Still Hopeful...

No, I'm not re-appearing for any exam. I think I'm quiet good (good enough to clear the exam) at studies. As a matter of fact, I have completed my engineering without year downs. Okay, let's not get into that. Enough self-appreciation.

And though I know, I've already blown more chances
Than anyone should ever get
All I'm asking you is don't write me off, just yet
Don't write me off just yet

3:11 PM
The GTalk window pops up and it's her.

She – Oyeeee (the number of e's varies all the time), It's 28th June.

I said in my mind, "So fucking what?!?" (that's my typical silent-reaction to the most of the things/questions thrown at me).

She – 3 years to our friendship! Remember? 28th June... we would have completed 3 years at Asylum (My first company. No, that's not the actual name of the company).

Me – Yes! I still remember every single moment quite vividly.

She – hmmmm (I've stopped counting the number of last-character-repetitions in such expressive words).
happy anniversary! :)
aila tujhe mile sath 3 saal ho gaye!!! (It's been 3 years since I met you!!!)
uffff... loong time ;)

Me – hmmm... loooong.. time... you survived.

She – yaaa. I know :P

Me – Thanks for bearing with me. And I mean it. Dunno how to make it sound more genuine.

She – :x (She uses this smiley at least 10 time when conversing with me to indicate that her lips are sealed)
sadu (snooty).

I feel like something is missing if she doesn't call me sadu.

Me – What?!?

She – thx for bearing with me n all...
pagal hai kya? (are you mad?).

Me – Not everybody is like u...
3 years, 3000 fights! n we are still friends!!

She – :xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
sab teri wajah se (all bcoz of you).

Me – see u started fighting again...

She – Oh yeah! Now stop.

Me – This is an eternal war... :P

She – funnnny!

Me – Nobody shall win.
Okay, tell me the moments you remember from last 3 years.

She – ummmm.. aaa... dunno...
decorating youe cube with balloons on your b'day... :D
timepass on Sweta's b'day, blah blah blah
what about u?

Me(yawning) – well, I remember a lot of things.

She – like?

Me – singing Kal Ho Na Ho so (un)professionally at the time of introduction with other colleagues.
then I remember the moments when we were doing those programming assignments as a part of training and your programs wouldn't work then you would come to my desk, pouting n saying, "mera naiiiin ho raha...(my programs not working)".
then practicing for our skit, Modern Ramayana.

She – hahhaa. I remember.. how we use to practice. lolsss. hehehehe :D :D

Me – then I remember when u took me to eat Vada pav n I wasn't very happy looking at how dirty the place was...

She – :D hehhee.. yaaa. I know.

Me – then talking to you on the messenger even when we were sharing the same cubicle.. that was fun... fighting on who gets the more cube space... blah blah blah...

She – yaaa.. that was fun..
Its been loong since v all met na.
milna chahiye (we should meet).

...

I told her about a lot of things that I still remember, but I couldn't tell her that I remember...

the moment when I realized that you are "that girl", you are the one.
the moment when I realized that you already have a boyfriend.
the moment when we were disunited our shared cube.
the moments when you would share cold drinks with me.

...

You know it's very hard when you're in love with a girl who already has a boyfriend and that girl is your very good friend. You have to face that girl regularly. If you tell her how you feel, you might loose her as a friend, or it might produce that feeling of awkwardness.

It's like, you are not "away" from her even if she is not with you,
and you are not "close" to her even if she is with you.

But right or wrong, I'm still hopeful.

All I'm asking you is don't write me off, just yet...
Don't write me off just yet...

Beautiful Code...

We were having a training session on robust coding as a part of the training.

The presenter shows a 3-4 lines of C code snippet on the projector screen.

It was a complex (unreadable) bock of code. So the presenter asked us how we can make this code look beautiful.

And this girl (name's not important), without wasting a second, said, "Use colors!".

Oh dear god...
